As a teenager, Damiano played on Rome Eurobasket's junior basketball team, which he admits taught him discipline and helped him succeed. The kid was fast and was considered a promising athlete. The team later made its way to Series A2 after Virtus Roma withdrew from the competition due to debt.

Also he has two cats named Logas and Bide, the name of the cat named Bide came to him for a reason, when the kitten was small and he was stuck in it, even had to call for help, thus the name was given.

Music:

At the age of 15, he dropped out of Eugenio Montale Linguistic High School in Rome to pursue only music.

In 2016, David joined the band Måneskin, founded by bassist Victoria De Angelis and guitarist Thomas Raji, when they were still in high school. Later, Ethan Torchio joined the lineup. At first they auditioned other vocalists and even one girl, but she didn't want to live in the capital.

Later the bassist admitted that in the early years of her musical biography she created about 10 bands, and Damiano was in one of the first. But instead of metal, he offered to do pop music and was rejected. De Angelis was Danish on her mother's side and came up with the name Måneskin, which in her native language meant "Moonlight."

According to Victoria De Angelis, Damiano didn't initially take root in the band because the band wanted to perform metal and Damiano wanted to perform pop music. But then Damiano came back to the band after Victoria and Thomas Raji tried many candidates for the vocalist role, none of whom were suitable for various reasons, and Damiano wrote to Victoria that he would now be different, and he was put back in the band. A later ad also found drummer Ethan Torchio.

The band began their first steps as street musicians, playing on Rome's Via del Corso, earning money to release their first single.

Career:

In 2017, the team participated in The X Factor show, the guys came in 2nd place, losing to Lorenzo Licitra. The group was mentored by Manuel Agnelli, leader of the ensemble Afterhours, formed in Milan in 1985 and named after a Velvet Underground song. David had already mastered the image of a scandalous frontman and at one of the performances went on stage in just his underpants. The musicians became known all over the country, their photo appeared on the cover of the Italian version of Rolling Stone magazine, the Romans were even called "the revelation of the year."

In 2018, the band released the single Morire da Re, and in the fall in Milan the rockers warmed up the audience before the Imagine Dragons concert. In September the song Torna a Casa was recorded, the release reached number one on the charts and went five times platinum.

On October 26, 2018 the first studio album II Ballo della Vita ("Dance of Life") appeared, the video for the song Le Parole Lontano was released, and on October 20, 2020 the track Vent'anni was presented to the public. In 2021 Måneskin won the Sanremo Festival, the national selection for Eurovision, ahead of Francesca Miquelin, Fedez and Ermal Mehta.

Damiano has many tattoos on his body, the most notable of which are the chest necklace inscription "IL BALLO DELLA VITA" (Italian for "Dance of Life"), dedicated to the band's debut album Il ballo della vita, and a tattoo of a Snake Tempter circling an apple with its head pointing up toward the chest inscription with a forked tongue sticking out.

After the X Factor show Damiano got a tattoo of a crown of thorns image of Jesus on his right thigh (the composition shows hands holding the Sacred Heart and crucifix with the fingers of the right hand folded in a characteristic Christ image) which resembled Damiano himself, causing a scandal, accusing Damiano of blasphemy and explaining that the image "is not meant to insult or disrespect anyone".

Until the spring of 2017, the singer was dating a girl named Lucrecia Petracca. In early 2021, there were rumors of a relationship with model Giorgia Soleri, an Italian born in 1995 in Rome, who starred in Moretti beer commercials.

During David's participation on The X Factor, actress and TV host Alba Parietti admitted that she was in love with him. The rocker himself said he received several "advances" from older ladies after the show. On May 22, 2021, Måneskin won the competition, which was held in Rotterdam, by singing Zitti e Buoni.
